Topical Collection Information:

Dear Colleagues,

The welfare of modern society relies on critical infrastructure systems (CISs) providing essential services that support safety, economic prosperity, and social sustainability. However, these systems are often subject to natural hazards, which can cause severe and widespread disruptions and consequences. This highlights the need for resilient infrastructure systems, which are able to withstand, adapt to, and recover quickly from disruptions. This special issue aims to promote the recent advances in the resilience planning of CISs. Potential themes for papers to be submitted to this Special Issue include but are not limited to the following:

  • Risk assessment;
  • Infrastructure resilience modeling;
  • Pre-disaster mitigation and post-disaster recovery;
  • Decision making;
  • Interdependencies between infrastructure systems.
