Topical Collection Information:

Dear Colleagues,

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, also known as 3D printing, have drawn tremendous attention of researchers and industrial players in recent years. Due to their layer-by-layer approaches, AM technologies can offer new capabilities to process different materials with unique structures and properties that can hardly be achieved by conventional manufacturing techniques. Among the wide range of AM-processable materials, polymers play important roles in AM processing of plastics, polymer matrix composites, and functionally graded materials due to their relatively low curing and melting temperatures, good flowability when softened or melted, and high chemical stability.

This Topical Collection focuses on state-of-the-art additive manufacturing methods for polymers and composites, and advanced pre- and post-processing techniques. Potential topics include but are not limited to, the following: Recent development of new polymer materials; Novel approaches to improve established additive manufacturing methods of polymers; Four-dimensional printing and multi-material printing; Pre- and post-processing of additively manufactured polymer parts; Process monitoring and quality control methods for additive manufacturing of polymers; Characterization methods for additively manufactured polymer parts; Novel and emerging applications for additive manufacturing of polymers.

It is our pleasure to invite you to submit full-length research papers, review papers as well as communications for this Topical Collection, titled "Advanced Additive Manufacturing of Polymers".

Manuscript Submission Information:

Please visit the Submissions Guidelines page before submitting a manuscript. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Manuscripts should be submitted online through the online manuscript submission and editorial system. Additionally, please include a cover letter specifying that the manuscript is intended for the Topical Collection "Advanced Additive Manufacturing of Polymers" when submitting it online. Manuscripts can be submitted until the submission deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Topical Collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract can be sent to the Editorial Office dtra@ukscip.com for announcement on this website.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 300 USD. Authors who are unable to cover this cost or those who are invited to submit papers may be eligible for discounts or waivers.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
