Special Issue Information:

Dear Colleagues,

Immunotherapy has emerged as one of the most transformative advances in modern medicine, offering innovative therapeutic strategies for a wide range of human diseases, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, inflammatory conditions, and other immune-mediated disorders. By harnessing and modulating the immune system, immunotherapeutic approaches have substantially expanded treatment opportunities. Nevertheless, significant challenges remain in patient selection, therapeutic efficacy, safety, durability of clinical response, and overcoming primary and acquired treatment resistance.

Addressing these challenges requires a deeper understanding of immune regulation at the molecular and cellular levels, alongside the integration of translational research that bridges fundamental discoveries with clinical application. The identification and validation of reliable biomarkers, characterization of molecular signaling networks, and implementation of precision medicine strategies are essential for predicting therapeutic responses, optimizing treatment selection, and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

This Special Issue, "Translational Immunotherapy: From Biomarkers and Molecular Signaling to Precision Medicine," aims to provide a comprehensive platform for researchers and clinicians to present the latest advances in the discovery, development, and clinical translation of immunotherapeutic strategies. We welcome original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, perspectives, and short communications that address both fundamental mechanisms and clinical applications of immunotherapy.

Particular emphasis will be placed on studies demonstrating clear translational potential by bridging laboratory discoveries with clinical practice. Contributions that investigate clinically relevant biomarkers, patient stratification, therapeutic response prediction, treatment optimization, companion diagnostics, and approaches that contribute to improved patient outcomes are especially encouraged.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, biomarker discovery and validation, immune profiling, molecular signaling pathways, cytokine networks, immune cell regulation, immunometabolism, the immune microenvironment, immune tolerance, and mechanisms of immune activation and suppression. Studies employing advanced technologies such as single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, multi-omics integration, proteomics, metabolomics, immunogenomics, systems biology, and other cutting-edge approaches are particularly encouraged.

The Special Issue also welcomes studies focusing on precision immunotherapy, including predictive biomarkers, personalized treatment strategies, companion diagnostics, computational immunology, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, and other data-driven approaches that enhance therapeutic decision-making. We particularly encourage collaborative studies integrating experimental immunology, computational modeling, clinical investigation, and industrial innovation to accelerate the development and implementation of next-generation immunotherapies.

Research related to cancer immunotherapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors, CAR-T and other cellular therapies, therapeutic vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, transplantation immunology, infectious diseases, allergy-related immune disorders, and emerging immunotherapeutic platforms is highly encouraged. Both preclinical and clinical studies that facilitate the translation of immunological discoveries into effective therapeutic interventions with meaningful clinical impact fall within the scope of this Special Issue.

By bringing together multidisciplinary perspectives from immunologists, clinicians, molecular biologists, computational scientists, bioinformaticians, biomedical researchers, and industry partners, this Special Issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into innovative immunotherapies that improve patient care. We invite researchers from academia, clinical practice, and industry to contribute their latest findings and perspectives toward advancing translational immunotherapy and shaping the future of precision medicine.
