Topical Collection Information:

Dear Colleagues,

The Collection Editor invites submissions to a Topical Collection on improving technologies to increase the efficiency of the technologies used in electricity production systems (e.g., wind power plants, photovoltaic power plants, fuel cells, micro-hydro-turbines, geothermal) from renewable sources.

Those technologies will be a mainstay of the global energy transition. The large-scale deployment will raise technical and non-technical challenges for exploiting the potential of energy in a sustainable and more efficient way.

In the actual context of encouraging the reduction of pollution by expanding the use of renewable energy resources, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of energy production systems based on unconventional resources.

Within technical control systems, surveillance functions must also be performed, which are put into practice through automatic monitoring, protection, signalling, and fault diagnosis. Remote monitoring of renewable energy power systems has the purpose of reducing the response time in the maintenance and troubleshooting process, as well as increasing the optimization of the controlled systems. Therefore, monitoring and control of those systems are essential to ensure operational safety and performance.

The expected original papers on innovative contributions should be based on (non-exclusive) the following topics:

  • Development of resource assessment techniques, modeling, and control algorithms;
  • Environmental sustainability of energy systems;
  • Concept innovations systems: design, installation, operation, performance, optimization, and control;
  • Operations and maintenance: reliability, maintainability, predictive maintenance, economics;
  • Condition monitoring, early diagnosis;
  • Artificial intelligence.

Manuscript Submission Information:

Please visit the Submissions Guidelines page before submitting a manuscript. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Manuscripts should be submitted online through the online manuscript submission and editorial system. Additionally, please include a cover letter specifying that the manuscript is intended for the Topical Collection "Improve Technologies to Increase Green Energies Efficiency" when submitting it online. Manuscripts can be submitted until the submission deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Topical Collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract can be sent to the Editorial Office neea@ukscip.com for announcement on this website.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 300 USD. Authors who are unable to cover this cost or those who are invited to submit papers may be eligible for discounts or waivers.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
