Topical Collection Information:

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid development of computational methods and electrochemical technologies is driving significant advancements in materials science. From density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD) to advanced catalysis and sustainable materials, these innovations transform our approach to energy storage, manufacturing, and beyond. This Topical Collection highlights the most recent breakthroughs that emerge from the synergy between computational studies and experimental research in materials science. We welcome contributions that explore novel materials, innovative computational techniques, and their practical applications across various fields, such as energy, sustainability, and electronics. We encourage studies based solely on computational methods, such as DFT, and those integrating computational and experimental approaches.

We invite you to submit manuscripts that delve into the following topics:

  • Advanced electrochemical energy storage solutions;
  • Hydrogen storage technologies;
  • Cutting-edge catalysis for energy and environmental applications;
  • Development and analysis of sustainable materials;
  • Innovations in corrosion science and prevention;
  • Progress in additive manufacturing techniques;
  • Advances in semiconductor materials and applications;
  • Computational methods including but not limited to molecular dynamics and density functional theory;
  • Machine learning and AI applications in materials science;
  • Theoretical and practical insights into computational materials science.

Contributing to this collection will help advance our understanding of materials science and its applications, fostering innovation and collaboration across disciplines.

Manuscript Submission Information:

Please visit the Submissions Guidelines page before submitting a manuscript. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Manuscripts should be submitted online through the online manuscript submission and editorial system. Additionally, please include a cover letter specifying that the manuscript is intended for the Topical Collection "Frontiers in Electrochemical and Computational Materials Science" when submitting it online. Manuscripts can be submitted until the submission deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Topical Collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract can be sent to the Editorial Office neea@ukscip.com for announcement on this website.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 300 USD. Authors who are unable to cover this cost or those who are invited to submit papers may be eligible for discounts or waivers.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
