Dear Colleagues,

The rapid evolution of computational technologies is transforming the way sustainable buildings and smart cities are designed, analyzed, and operated. Recent advances in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), computational aerodynamics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Twin technologies have significantly enhanced our ability to predict complex aerodynamic phenomena, optimize energy performance, improve outdoor and indoor environmental quality, and support resilient urban development.

This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research that explores the integration of advanced computational methods and intelligent technologies for sustainable architecture, smart buildings, and future urban environments. Particular emphasis is placed on innovative approaches that combine high-fidelity numerical simulations, data-driven modeling, and AI-assisted engineering to address challenges related to wind engineering, urban aerodynamics, natural ventilation, building energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and climate-responsive architectural design.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), computational aerodynamics, wind effects on buildings and urban areas, pedestrian wind comfort, sustainable architectural design, building energy performance, HVAC optimization, urban microclimate analysis, Digital Twins, machine learning and deep learning applications in engineering, smart building technologies, renewable energy integration, and intelligent decision-support systems for smart cities.

Researchers from academia, industry, and government organizations are invited to submit original research articles, review papers, and case studies presenting novel methodologies, practical applications, and emerging technologies that contribute to the development of safer, more energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable built environments.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the submission deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the Special Issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract can be sent to the Editor Aries Li aries@ukscip.com for announcement on this website.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 USD. Authors who are unable to cover this cost or those who are invited to submit papers may be eligible for discounts or waivers.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
